Our Vision

At the heart of the vision is a commitment to preserving the site’s history while opening the door to new community experiences. The main sanctuary and original 1949 chapel will be thoughtfully transformed into versatile spaces for gatherings, performances, professional events, and celebrations. Beyond these historic landmarks, the project also envisions incorporating spaces for art and creativity, ensuring that Tomball Legacy Square becomes a place where Tomball’s heritage and creative spirit come together.

April 2023

Tomball Economic Development Corporation finalizes purchase of 4.6-acre First Baptist Church campus for $4.5 million.

Q4 2023

Tomball Economic Development Corporation installs signs indicating free public parking across 326 spaces at First Baptist Church.

2023 to 2025

Tomball Economic Development Corporation leases church property back to First Baptist Church through 2026 while First Baptist Church constructs its new church.

May 2025

Tomball Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors approves professional services agreement with Studio Red Architects for the schematic phase of the First Baptist Church Redevelopment Project.

May 2025

Tomball Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors approves professional services agreement with AIG Technical Services for professional engineering services related to a comprehensive parking and multimodal mobility and circulation study for Old Town Tomball.

July 2025

Tomball EDC hosts first public Community Open House for the Tomball Legacy Square Project with over 200 attendees.
