Summer Youth Employment Program

The purpose of this program is to create a talent and workforce development initiative for the youth of the City of Tomball, Texas (the “City”), and enhance career awareness and readiness of our young adults. This program aims to provide meaningful, paid summer employment opportunities in a variety of industries, giving hands-on experience and a taste of real-world work environments.

Program Requirements

Residency and School Enrollment: Must reside and/or attend school in the City Limits of Tomball or within the TISD jurisdiction.

Age Requirement: Must be 16 years old by April 1 of the applicable year.

Proof of Current School Enrollment and Attendance: Present a valid Student ID or a current Report Card.

Identification: Provide a Social Security Card.

Full Session Commitment: Must commit to completing the entire 7-week session.


The TEDC Youth Employment Program will be made available to young adults aged 16-20 who attend high school or college within the City of Tomball or the TISD jurisdiction. Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Is committed to preserving our automotive heritage by rebuilding and restoring the highest-quality vehicles through superior operational standards.

Della Casa, LLC

Is a food manufacturing wholesale company that specializes in the production of fresh pasta products and distributing high-quality products to restaurants.

Boatman Construction, LLC

Is a full-service general contractor that specializes in all phases of commercial construction. The company has existing industrial, commercial, medical, and residential projects

ADIM Media

Is a full-service marketing company offering website design/ management, social media management, graphic design, photography and videography, email services, and more.

JDR Cable Systems

Is an Oil & Gas company that designs, engineers, and manufactures subsea power cables, as well as umbilical cables consisting of components for power distribution, data transfer, monitoring, and remote control of offshore facilities.

BlueSky Global

Is a manufacturer of industrial dust collection and air cleaning equipment. The company also assembles machines for the sales and rental market.

Power Solutions Specialist, LLC

Is a residential/commercial standby generator maintenance and service company.

Is a full-service video production company. They do everything from the inception of a project: from creative concepting, scripting, planning, filming, to editing and delivering the final video. The primary clients are local retail commercial clients, or corporate clients who need internal or public facing videos.

Application Process

The Application Process will open on March 18th and will remain open until April 1st, 2024. Early submissions are highly encouraged.

Please note that limited slots are available and job placement cannot be guaranteed for every applicant. To increase your chances of being selected for a job offer through SYEP, submit completed applications as soon as possible.

Duration of Employment
There are no uniform start dates for employment assignments. Employment will be made available starting June 1, 2024, and will last a maximum of 7 weeks. All employment will end on or before August 15, 2024.
Wages will be $15.00 per hour and will be limited to 20 hours per week not to exceed 140 hours during the 7-week program. Any hours worked over the 140 project hours must be agreed upon between both the business and intern and will be paid by the participating business.

For those accepted into the Summer Youth Employment Program, Job Offer emails will begin rolling out in May 2024. Please be aware that due to the anticipated high volume of applications and the limited number of available spots, we cannot guarantee job opportunities for all applicants. Applicants not initially selected will be placed on a waitlist and notified if a spot becomes available.
