Several years of planning, development, and hard work has Paradigm Brewing Company on the verge of fulfilling its dream. Founders Chris Juergen, Josh Schwaiger, and Craig Windholz bring decades of experience and a passion for community to the Tomball beer scene with the launch of the new brewery and restaurant in the Tomball Business & Technology Park.

Eager to Open

The brewery will open to the public at 11:00 a.m. on December 18 with its Christmas at the Brewery celebration. Event activities include the opportunity to try Paradigm’s beer and food, brewery tours at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., corn hole and disc golf in the bier garden, hot cocoa, bounce houses, and a special appearance from Santa Clause at 3:00 p.m.

“We’re excited to get the doors open to welcome everybody in. We’ve had so much support from the community. Now we’re ready to open up so everyone can join us for a beer and to have fun,” said Juergen.

Paradigm has been preparing for the opening by hiring management, front of house, and back of house employees. While overcoming the staffing issues plaguing the hospitality industry has been a challenge, the company is confident the experienced and dedicated team they have formed will capably serve enthusiastic guests ready to try out the brewery.

Positive Early Returns

The opening of the brewery to the public is just the next step in Paradigm’s launch. The company began brewing, canning, and distributing beer in the fall. Currently in nearly 20 HEB stores and more than 40 restaurants and bars, Paradigm has been building a strong local following. The company is set to expand to other retailers in 2022.

“Consumer feedback has been really, really good. People are trying our beer and loving it,” said Schwaiger.

The amount of beer that we’re selling around the Tomball area has been humbling. I’m constantly amazed by the hospitable reception. People seem excited to be a part of what we’re doing.

The initial lineup of beers available for purchase include Precision IPA, Professor Pils, Heartland Hefeweizen, and Unforgotten Blonde Ale, of which a portion of the proceeds goes to support first responders and military. These four were purposely chosen by the team for retail sales to appeal to a wide range of beer drinkers. Paradigm will have six to eight additional beers on tap exclusive to serve brewery visitors.

“The beers are very classical styles that are approachable for all beer drinkers. That core four covers the broad stroke of consumers to make sure we have something for everybody,” offered Juergen. “At the brewery, with our full lineup, people will be able to see the creative process of doing different things across flavor profiles.”

Building a Following in Tomball

Reaching consumers and building a following is exhilarating for Paradigm Brewing Company. The founders chose Tomball intentionally because of the local support and the way that the city rallies around local businesses.

Tomball has been really good to us. We’ve been welcomed with open arms. We can’t ask for a better consumer base than what we’re going to get right here in Tomball.

Announced as CCJ Collaborations when the project began in 2020, Paradigm Brewing Company broke ground in February 2021 on the 10,500 square-foot brewery. The brewery has significant indoor and outdoor space, including a beer garden, as the company utilizes the natural beauty of the setting around the brewery.

An Economic Win for Tomball

The Tomball Economic Development Corporation (TEDC) board approved an incentive agreement in August 2020 for the construction of the project. The project’s estimated capital investment is more than $4 million, and an economic analysis conducted for TEDC expects the new project to generate $22.8 million in direct economic output over the next 10 years.
