Since 2016 Boatman Construction has been at the forefront of Tomball’s development. The family-owned business can be found building in all corners of Tomball with its commitment to hard work, quality, and customer service. The business continues to be defined, however, by the special bonds created inside and outside the Boatman Construction office.

Relationships and Experience

Shane D. Boatman and Shane B. Boatman, father and son, bring nearly 70 years of construction experience to Boatman Construction as co-owners. The second and third generation builders share a belief that honesty and relationships are essential to their success.

“For me personally, relationships define success as much as money. At the end of the day, the only thing you’re taking with you is your reputation,” said Shane D. “I tell every client, ‘You may not always like what I’m going to tell you, but I’m going to tell you the truth.’”

The company has built a successful reputation with their honest and fair approach. That distinction has helped them garner a strong portfolio of business in Tomball and beyond.

Project Portfolio and Promising Future

Boatman Construction is currently working on and recently completed a number of exciting projects. Examples of recent Tomball projects include Techsico in the Tomball EDC-owned Tomball Business & Technology Park, Copan Trading, and Legent Hospital. Boatman plans to start construction on flex-space buildings on Persimmon Road in January. The opportunity to construct so many projects in their hometown means a lot to Boatman, who serves as Chair of the Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce.

While we do work all over the state, Tomball is our home and it’s important to us to build in our backyard.

The ability to build a diverse range of projects is another reason that Boatman is finding success. The company has existing industrial, commercial, medical, and residential projects. The nine person company utilizes the same customer service-driven approach with all projects. Boatman understands how important it is to be precise and efficient.

“It’s a matter of doing the best you can, as quickly as you can, so the client can get in there to start making money. Time is money, no matter what business you’re in,” offered Shane D.

Boatman’s strong reputation and client-focused approach has the company positioned well for the future. Shane D. sees the rest of 2023 and 2024 shaping up to be very strong. 2022 was the company’s best year, indicating the positive momentum being generated.

Special Bond

At the end of the day, Boatman always comes back to the relationships. For the elder Boatman, there is one relationship that stands out above all.

I’m most proud that I’ve been able to work with my son. I can build buildings for anybody, or by myself, but getting to work with my son has made it more rewarding.
