TOMBALL, TEXAS (April 23, 2025) – The Walsh & Albert Company with 270 employees and Metal Zinc, LLC (Metal Zinc) with 150 employees is set to open a 194,500 square-foot office and commercial HVAC manufacturing complex in the Tomball Business & Technology Park.
Walsh & Albert Company founded in 1982 by Pete Walsh specializes in furnishing commercial HVAC ductwork for many of the premier office buildings, hospitals, schools, hotels, labs, and prisons. Known for their expertise in furnishing ductwork they also fabricate ductwork to be sent to customers directly for their client to install.
Metal Zinc was established in 2016 to provide HVAC sheet metal products, for the commercial, multifamily, and single family residential markets. Metal Zinc sells its product throughout the nation and world through a distribution network of HVAC retailers. Alongside its sister company, Walsh & Albert, Metal Zinc expects its Tomball move to amplify the company’s success.
“When Metal Zinc was founded eight years ago, we thought we were going to be in the building for at least ten years, however, we have outgrown our current plant in Houston, Texas. Our new home in Tomball gives us the location and space we need to continue expanding,” said Ryan Walsh, Metal Zinc President. “We can’t wait to start our next chapter in Tomball.”
The company has hired 70 new employees to date for its Tomball operations joining approximately 130 employees from Metal Zinc’s Houston location. Tomball’s accessibility to well-prepared talent was key in Metal Zinc’s decision.
“We recognized the opportunity and success of manufacturing in Tomball and we are excited to be a part of that. There is so much potential, especially being central to the growing workforce in and around Tomball,” added Christa Brown, Metal Zinc Human Resources Manager.
Metal Zinc and Walsh & Albert’s combined 194,500 square-foot project is the latest to develop in the award-winning 99.5-acre Tomball Business & Technology Park owned by the Tomball Economic Development Corporation (TEDC). The final piece of available land in the Park, the 17.67 acres sold in June 2023 with the intention to become the new home of Walsh & Albert and Metal Zinc.
“Metal Zinc and Walsh & Albert are ideally suited for the Tomball Business & Technology Park. Their tremendous growth and innovative operations pair well with the Park’s robust, forward-thinking business ecosystem. We are thrilled to welcome Metal Zinc and Walsh & Albert to Tomball and look forward to a successful partnership with them for many years,” offered Kelly Violette, TEDC Executive Director.
The Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce will host a grand opening and ribbon cutting for Metal Zinc and Walsh & Albert on Tuesday, May 20 at 2:00 p.m. The ribbon cutting will take place at the newly constructed Metal Zinc and Walsh & Albert headquarters (2401 South Persimmon Street, Tomball, Texas 77375).
