TOMBALL, TEXAS (May 10, 2023) – A new promotional program, Made in Tomball, markets and showcases participating local businesses and products made, grown, manufactured, and sold in Tomball. The program also encourages customers to shop local to support Tomball businesses. Made in Tomball is a partnership between the Tomball Economic Development Corporation (TEDC) and Visit Tomball. The program launch coincides with Economic Development Week and comes on the heels of Small Business Week.
Companies who produce, process, or manufacture at least 80 percent of their products in Tomball can join Made in Tomball. Restaurants that are Tomball-owned or serve dishes that include multiple Tomball-made ingredients are eligible for the Made in Tomball initiative.
Made in Tomball offers a range of benefits to its partners, including a Made in Tomball sticker to promote their status as a locally-based business, a listing in the Made in Tomball directory, advertising discounts through Visit Tomball, access to exclusive events, and a private community for networking and collaboration.
“Featuring world-class businesses and products created in our city through Made in Tomball helps local companies grow and thrive. This unique program promotes Tomball by publicizing Made in Tomball products in a variety of ways, as well as spotlighting successful Tomball businesses,” said TEDC Assistant Director, Tiffani Wooten.
The Made in Tomball strategic partnership plans to spotlight business and product gems found in Tomball.
"We believe that promoting locally-made goods not only benefits our small businesses, but also helps to support the local economy and enhance the visitor experience in Tomball," said Andrew Brockenbush, Visit Tomball President. "We are excited to work with the TEDC to build a strong and vibrant community of locally-made products."
Tomball Farmers Market, home to more than 70 vendors every Saturday morning in Old Town Tomball, has provided valuable insight into local businesses and goods made in Tomball.
“Tomball has always been a great place to grow small businesses. We have a strong community that is supportive of small businesses, and we are excited to be collaborating with the TEDC and Visit Tomball to add Made in Tomball opportunities for truly local small businesses,” said Amanda Kelly, Tomball Farmers Market Manager. “As a certified all local farmers market, Tomball Farmers Market has helped over 20 local businesses transition from our market into thriving local store fronts, and we are excited to help them grow more through Made in Tomball. We believe that Tomball is the perfect place for small businesses to thrive, and we are committed to continuing to provide them with the resources they need to succeed with the TEDC and Visit Tomball."
Wooten added, “We are proud to be a Made in Tomball founding partner with Visit Tomball. This initiative fits the TEDC mission to attract, retain and help Tomball businesses grow in Tomball.”
